SUPERFRONT is an emerging institution promoting experiments in architecture. Mitch McEwen founded SUPERFRONT in Brooklyn in January 2008. The SUPERFRONT Detroit operation launched in 2011 under the leadership of the inimitable Chloë Bass, artist and community organizer. SUPERFRONT’s mission is to support, promote, and exhibit radically contemporary architecture, while fostering creative interdisciplinary exchange. SUPERFRONT LA, the west coast presence, has been supported by the Design Loves Art program at the Pacific Design Center since September 2009. Architectural Record has profiled SUPERFRONT as a gallery that “catalyzes avant-garde architecture.” SUPERFRONT is funded primarily by generous individual supporters.
